If I may wish one not-very-purposeful wish-- just one,
It would be that I would live in a
City where trains are the lifeblood, lifeline
I would labor, love, laugh on the commute
A book by my side
Station food, Dunkin' Donuts coffee
Mark my days by conductor hellos,
Punched ticket stubs, missed-train-groans
I have a sordid love affair with public transportation.

This was a genuine hug, and seeing this completely made my day :)
Many years back, a friend taught me how to hug, to really hug. From her, I learned how powerful and how comforting a hug could be, and also how much you can convey in such a simple action. Since then, I've given and received many good hugs. And, for that, I am forever thankful to her.

P.S. I'm back :) Sorry guys, I've been missing for quite some time now.

There is something really old school about this picture.

This Chinese man was playing the violin. It sounded quite good! I gave him some money too for his efforts.
Apart from the minor distractions in the background I like how this picture shows that he is in a world of his own.

TIAN!!!!
i love the free hugs movement.
it makes me believe that the world is filled with people who need love, who can give love, who have love for each other--for strangers, yet, not strangers.
ahh.
thank you.
i needed this.
:)
Tian back! i think there is a free hug thing going on this Saturday! I shall go down and snap a picture=)
Hugs are good. Yeayyyyy!
darell, i say yes to poetry and love affairs.
:)
the free hugs initiative is so incredibly restorative- thank you for the awesome pics, tian, and welcome back!
:) I’m glad to be back! Great photo, Darell. The station looks very grand; Boston's train stations can't compare to the one in your pic. Jing...come to Boston again (and make sure it's when I'm there too)!
Jian, yours is very captivating. I've been seeing a lot of musicians playing around Cambridge, and I've realized that they do it because they love music and just want to share the joy.
June, I know. It's amazing, right? It's always (slightly unexpected) things like this that remind me of the immense capacity of love people can have for others.
