"Ruck Skirmish"

Etihad Stadium, Melbourne

So this is called the 'ruck'. After the referee has bounced the ball (called the footie) off the ground, the ruckmen (who are normally the tallest in the team) vie for it by jumping up and tapping it into their team mate's hands. It's normally quite exciting as the players next to the ruckmen wait in anticipation for the footie.

"Reminiscing Old Times"

I went to my first Australian Rules Football match today! It was between the Western Bulldogs and the North Melbourne Kangaroos. Anyway, the Western Bulldogs were actually called the Footscray Bulldogs a long time ago.

I guess this supporter has been a fan for quite a long time!

Didn't notice that garden chairs were set out here till today. It's a perfect place to have a picnic, especially since it's getting warmer (maybe...? there was a short hail storm just a couple days ago...aha, the unpredictability of Cambridge weather).

Had to post this one too--Love how sunlight changes the transparency of the leaves.

Springtime in Cambridge is absolutely beautiful! Expect more flower/nature shots.

Anyway continuing with my pictures from Bright! I saw this solitary flower next to the Lavender garden (the flowers there were not blooming unfortunately). It's beauty was magnified by the sun shining behind it. This kinda makes the shot more dramatic because the background becomes dark.

"A Smile for You"

After taking a couple shots of this, I head off, and behind me, I hear someone say: "Excuse me, are you a tourist?" Turning around, I see this guy catching up to me--he was curious on why I was taking pictures of the college (apparently, no one ever does...). Turns out, he's from Darwin College and he's also friends with the girl living in the room with the smiley face. We got to talking, briefly, and I learned a bit more about Darwin College.

I didn't manage to catch his name...but, encounters like these make my day :)

"Look Up And Smile"

Quite a special bench I found while exploring Newnham College. The bench has a hexagonal shape and surrounds the tree. Each side carries a message, this side's being: "Look up and Smile". Some of its other messages are: "Remember me", "What do you see", and "Tarry a while" (the last one's so British, haha).

So I did!

Long absence. Haven't had the itch to take pictures. I guess all my energy went into my trip to Bright today. Had a photoshoot with some friends. It was fun doing some portrait photography. Ordering people to pose in certain ways etc!

Bright is known for the beautiful Autumn leaves. So pretty!
