So my exams ended on Thursday and I am here in Melbourne for a few more days. This boot belongs to Karen. She is part of the Overseas Christian Fellowship (OCF) and volunteers to give out coffee to exam goers every evening. Since the OCF organised a scavenger hunt on Friday, I decided to check it out.
Being born a Buddhist, I've always wondered what Christianity is like. I am not a practising Buddhist and much rather spectate than participate. Anyhow, chatting with the OCF members was an eye opening experience. It is so good getting a different perspective on religion and the people I met were all quite a jolly bunch!
One of the chaps called Nicky told me to read this book called 'The Lotus And The Cross" which presents a hypothetical conversation between the Lord Buddha, Jesus Christ and a girl called Priya.
The space between Christianity and Buddhism. I think it's a good space.

i think it's really interesting how you said you were "born a buddhist."
tell me how the book is.
Ok maybe not 'born a Buddhist' but more 'born into a Buddhist environment'. I am finding it difficult to accept a specific religion, though I find the place in between religions comforting.
do you mean what the religions share in common?
ditto jian ming. i can't decide/am not sure i want to.
June: The religions do have similarities. I was quite hesitant to embrace any factions of Christianity because of a bad experience in the past. However, the Jolly Bunch were quite open to listening to what I had to say and I found them to be very enlightening. To be in that space, to me, means to be able to share the common themes that both ways of life share and perhaps to learn from their differences as well!
Darell: Haha. The time will come when a chance encounter will lead to something more and you will get to decide where you want to be=) Good luck with that!!!!!
